One of our clients produces vinyl siding and vinyl siding hardware. They came to SFS having invented a steel strip that is applied underneath the siding, providing a long-lasting level of quality. As a result, their siding looks better for a longer period of time. Because of this edge, the company has gone on to be one of the largest vinyl siding manufactures and installers in the country. SFS helped by running the complex steel strip at very high volumes with extremely precise tolerances.
Another client of ours actually invented a new approach to building houses. Their new home designs could be made less expensively, plus the designs were earthquake resistant, perfect for markets where earthquakes are a constant concern. Their problem was not the concept, it was the execution. Most of the needed components were steel and had never been made before. SFS was asked to make specialty tooling to produce the components quickly and economically. With the components issue solved in both process and production, we then partnered with the customer to solve another problem: Because this type of house had never been built before, the workforce who would assemble the structures needed to be trained. SFS was ready to help. With our first-hand knowledge of the materials, SFS assembled many of the wall sections at our facility and shipped them via flatbed truck all the way to California.
